3. PLANT AND EQUIPMENT

MUST CRITERIA

  • The milking machine must be tested according to the manufacturers’ recommendations with a test certificate available to confirm this action.

  • The milking machine must have identified faults rectified, supported by service records.

  • The milking machine must have teat cup liners, which are of a condition that avoid injury to cows, with appropriate records of when they are changed kept.

  • All mechanical equipment (eg scrapers, calving aids etc) must be maintained in a condition to avoid injury and stress to livestock.

  • Electric fencing equipment must be maintained in a condition to avoid injury and stress to all cattle.

  • All electrical installations must be carried out by a competent electrician, to minimise the risk of injury and distress to cattle.
